Also notice how his patterns got more and more fractal-like. Kinda reminds me of my experience visiting the astral plane on my shamanic journeys… Hmmm

Does anybody else see the cat quite clearly in the image when “they ceased to resemble cats at all, and become the ultimate abstraction”. I mean, it’s even got whiskers, resembles a cat to me…

I think asylums are only for those who are undoubtedly going to hurt themselves or others, but not if they’re just different. That’s just not right

My fav artist. My gf bought me “a cat compendium: the worlds of Louis Wain” and I love how like this vid you can see where he starts to snap. Its a shame he had to go thru all that but it brought some phenomenal art.

Psychiatric illnesses are declared when a person is no longer capable of caring for themselves in the present sense. They are unable to cope with the very real reality of providing for themselves, making sure they are healthy and so on. If you want to define ‘alternate realities’ as the various configurations that the mind and senses perceive, sure, that is fine. But if you die because you stop feeding yourself, you lose any and all ability to progress.

Imagine being a schizophrenic and dropping acid 😀

That’s exactly what I thought. This is not a man progressing away from reality, but deeper into it. Modern psychiatry will institutionalize all the poor souls who realize who they really are…the universe itself, everything, a playing of patterns and vibrations…But psychiatry cannot accept altered states of consciousness that claim divinity, just as Jesus was at first condemned for calling himself a Son of God.

@HeiHolaHello That’s the problem, society’s idea of “right” behavior or “normal” consciousness. “Right” behavior includes going to another country and killing strangers because a bunch of politicians declare war. “Normal” consciousness is what has led us to the widespread societal neurosis that is considered ok only because everyone has it. The ones who break the mold are the ones that push us forward. We should never lock anyone in an asylum because they don’t act like everyone else.

they didn’t diagnose him with schizophrenia because of his paintings, but his behaviour… if they did, i would be in an insane asylum by now.
